It’s just you and the wall; you take your hand to your back to dip it in magnesium; you take a breath, arch your body and feel the rock for fissures, cracks, small holes you can grasp with your fingers to push yourself up. A lizard runs away, frightened as its solarium is being invaded. Your muscles tense up and you manage to make progress, sweating to conquer every centimetre of wall. Finally, you reach your goal and stand still looking at the horizon in search of new challenges while the afternoon sun warms your face up.
